The Welsh Springer is an extremely intelligent, versatile breed. They like to do whatever you do just as long as they are with you. The old saying, “You can’t be all things to all people,” does not apply to the Welsh. They are so adaptable that they can be happy with a boisterous family of active children or as a quiet house dog with an elderly person. The Welsh will take its cue from you. You are its world and it will want to please you above all else. If you sit, it will lie down at your feet. If you get up, it will follow. Some owners take their Welsh to the office. Others run, hike and hunt with their Welsh. Still others simply enjoy family play time or evening walks. The most loyal companion imaginable, the Welsh will join in every activity. The breed is gentle by nature, sometimes a little reserved with strangers, but quickly warming up as soon as they are introduced. Typically the Welsh will stay beside you until it feels comfortable with a new situation.
